The Healing Center of Light - Restoration of Body, Mind, and Spirit

Reiki

Reiki is a natural healing technique that originated in part with the Ling Chi of the Chinese Taosits over 5,000 years ago.  Through the laying of hands, healing energies are channeled through the practitioner into the client.  Rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui, a buddhist monk, in the 1800's, Reiki is both a powerful and gentle healing modality suitable for healthy and sick people of all ages.  It can be used to replenish vital energy, strengthen the immune system, ward off disease, and more.  It's long history of use includes treatment of virtually every illness or ailment including serious problems such as multiple sclerosis, heart disease, and cancer as well as cuts, bruises, broken bones, headaches, colds, flu, sore throat, sun burn, fatigue, insomnia, impotence, poor memory, lack of confidence, the list goes on. During and after Reiki treatment, all systems of the body (respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic, digestive, excretory, endocrine, nervous, skeletal, muscular) are being cleansed and purified of any stuck or stagnated energy, while simultaneously receiving pure, healthy, and high-vibrational Reiki energy.  This healing technique not only promotes physical well-being, but also has a positive effect on your emotional and spiritual balance.

The Ideals of Reiki...

Although Reiki is not a religion, it is spiritual in nature.  There are no dogmas and there is nothing we must believe in to learn and use Reiki.  However, five universal ideals or principles have evolved and have been part of the Reiki tradition since its rediscovery in the late1800's.  These principles can assist the free and full flow of the life force and can help individuals grow in a deeper sense of well being.

*The Japanese gassho position should be understood as follows: It's best to either sit on the floor with crossed legs or on your legs without crossing them.  Now fold your hands in front of your heart chakra.  You can also naturally sit on a chair or stand up, as the most important thing here is the mental attitude.
**The word Ryoho means either method, treatment, or healing system.
